Understanding DNS Records

DNS Record Types

A Record

Points a domain or subdomain to an IP address. Used to connect your domain to your hosting server.

CNAME Record

Points a domain or subdomain to another domain name. Useful for subdomains like www or mail.

MX Record

Specifies mail servers for your domain. Required for email to work properly.

TXT Record

Stores text information, often used for verification (SPF, DKIM for email) or domain ownership.

TTL (Time To Live)

How long DNS information is cached. Lower values (3600) mean faster updates but more DNS queries.
